Aberdeen is located in northeast South Dakota in the James River Valley. The Aberdeen plant is situated on a main line railroad operated by BNSF and is adjacent to U.S. Highways 12 and 281. The present plant produces 9.3 million gallons of ethanol and 29,853 tons of dry distillers grains equivalents per year.

This area has an abundant supply of corn and the plant has a beneficial grain origination relationship with South Dakota Wheat Growers.

A 46 million gallon per year production capacity plant completed construction and began grinding corn on January 10, 2008. The additional rail capacity constructed at the site allows for shipments of unit trains of ethanol and DDGS.
